I wanted reference pictures so that I could draw a space battle picture or ten, and couldn’t find very many high quality ones on the internet. So I just decided to just get a bunch from Severed Dreams. Which involved watching the space battle in it and also Delenn being a badass over and over again. I probably could have just watched it once, but … Severed Dreams.
I have to do so much hard work for my art you guys.
“This is Ambassador Delenn of the Minbari. Babylon 5 is under our protection. Withdraw … or be destroyed.”
“Negative. We have authority here. Do not force us to engage your ship.”

Delenn is a badass. I’m not surprised those EA ships ran away right after she said that. Also, I watched Severed Dreams for the first time on my birthday. I’m not sure if there are any episodes that would be better to watch on one’s birthday (since a lot of the other good episodes are also really sad).
Capturing the intensity of Delenn’s expression in this scene was hard. Eyebrows exist for a reason, and it’s really hard to draw expressions without eyebrows (I’m also really impressed by how well Mira was able to act without eyebrows). I’m not sure if I succeeded in getting the expression right or not.
This is probably the last fanart piece I’ll be able to post in a while. I won’t have my real computer or a scanner with me at the art program, so I won’t be able to do digital art or scan in any traditional art. I do have another half finished fanart, but I was having a lot of trouble with it and decided to draw this quickly instead. I’ll probably finish the other one when I get back.
